Technology is such a mystery.
Another day, another discovery.
SECOND TUTORIAL CLASS.
How exciting it was to wake up, and to actually be in a class, facing a computer for 3 hours.
*not an anti-social person*
*still talk to human*
*online*
So, I have discover the usage of the app, Google Drive, where we can share any files we have in a computer with our peers, just by uploading it online. Not only we can share documents, pictures, slides and presentation, BUT!
WE CAN ALSO INTERACT AT THE SAME TIME.
I mean forget Facebook for a moment, but to finish a report by just sharing every piece of information we have without having to open a lot of links in a new tab, having the chance to comment on a piece of information that is display and to get an instant reply at the same time? It is priceless. Not to mention, how time saving it is. Google Drive helps student like myself, to complete task smoothly (Smooth only when the internet is fast) and easily.
Despite that, I have learned about other software and application that can be used online, which is Learning Management System or LMS and Content Management System or CMS. LMS is a software application that a person will use for administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of e-Learning education courses or training programs. Lecturers can post up announcement, track, observe and evaluate student performance and participation online. LMS provide support for distance learning, as in students are able to access the web everywhere they go. Students can track their courses, view study materials (videos, presentation, task and assignment, PDF files), communicating with their peers and lecturers and to keep themselves up to date with any announcement and updates by their lectures. LMS is also used in big companies as a platform to train and manage and track new workers in doing their work.
For CMS on the other hand, is known as a computer application where a person will manage the editorial content of a website. CMS is often used in blogs, shopping and marketing websites. CMS is also able to track students’ performance and enables instructor, such as lecturers, to extend the classroom beyond its traditional boundaries. Therefore, most lecturers will use this method for e-Learning process as it is easier to manage. By doing so, lecturers would only have to upload material courses, giving links of videos to watch, communicating with their students in forums and so on. Students are also able to communicate with their peers easily without having to see them face to face. Students can also be assessed through quizzes and tests online.
Technology works in many way.
Filled with mysterious software and applications.
Till then.
